Freedom from colonization?

few more weeks and Indonesia will celebrate one of the biggest day in Indonesia's history : The Independence Day. The day when our Founding Father declared our freedom for colonization for 3 centuries. The story was told from generation to generation when Mr. Soekarno and Mr. Hatta and other important people arrange Indonesia's national principle. and the history told us, the night before 17th August, 1945 , Mr. Soekarno and Mr. Hatta were kidnapped and one night they have to think and write the most famous independence speech which is spoken every year in independence ceremony = "Proklamasi" or "Proclamation"

i quoted one of proclamation's section "we declare our independence"

many Indonesian especially who called them as "the intellect one" still confuse about this word and what actually happen in Indonesia now. The elder said that we have already won from colonization, but unfortunately we still facing another colonization. some of them believe we still facing "in-tolerance colonization", economic colonization, even "western colonization" through culture or private company which open their company in Indonesia and try to take all Indonesia's natural resources.

when i was in high school, i joined Paskibra (Pasukan Pengibar Bendera) or flag raisers. i joined paskibra because i do not know what kind of extracurricular that i have to join.

i still remembered when i was in 1st grade of high school, i have to practice everyday under scorching sun since we have to   take part in 17th August Flag Ceremony. the Biggest ceremony in our school.

the practice also in semi-military condition and made me think at the moment = is this the real independence for me?
as mankind, naturally, we wants to be free. free from everything that we want to be free. i thought Indonesia fought the colonial because they want to be free.

maybe "Indonesia" had already free from their colonization, it is the time for Indonesia to give independence to their citizen.
freedom in believing in religion, freedom from poverty, corruption, even freedom is speech.

for you Indonesian, and if you have social media such facebook, you will see the fact that Indonesia, nowdays, give freedom to their citizen to speech or express their opinions, etc. including to criticize our president, Mr. Joko Widodo.

when people know their right regarding their freedom of speech, they try to elaborate the meaning of speech by sending some propaganda in the middle of people who "lazy-to-read". those who spread the propaganda knows our weakness as Indonesian. we are faint to read and prefer to read news in Facebook (in someone's status or news in Facebook) rather read in news itself.

we as Indonesian are easily provoked by propaganda that spread in Social Media. Yes, Indonesia is one of the biggest number of Facebook user. from The Wall Street on 2014, Indonesia reached 69 million of Facebook member and it make the "news" easily to spread in our society.
we (including me) prefer to read the news from the facebook (from someone status or link) then we have to read it in newspaper conventional.

it is your freedom actually wherever you want to read the news, whatever you want to believe it or not, and the most important thing for me is : it is your freedom if you want to be the smart reader or the (sorry) foolish one.

friend of mine once said to me regarding in-tolerance problem that happened in Indonesia : "if you do not know the problem you better shut-up rather than you speak, and you dont know the problem it means you spread propaganda to others"

once again i said, it is your freedom to be a smart reader or a empty-headed.

best,
Yabs
